Ine van Helfteren is fascinated by the colors and the historical patina that adheres to old pottery. She rejuvenates old and used pottery by recreating their fragmants into a complete new structure of a completely different shape. This way she provides them with a second live. The pottery fragments, from traditional Maastricht ceramics, are fitted onto concrete basic molds which form the foundations of her unique artistic creations. Organic shapes from the natural world provide her with the inspiration needed to express herself in an opulent language of shapes and forms. Art fairs, art galleries and sculpture parks all over Western Europe display her creations. They are purchased by private collectors and institutes in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and the United States.
